    2. Enable Windows Defender Firewall 

  •  Press the Windows key + R to open Run.
  • Type control and click OK to open the Control Panel.
  • In the Control Panel, go to System and Security.
  • Click on Windows Defender Firewall.
  • From the left pane, click on the Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off option.
  • Make sure the Turn on Windows Defender Firewall option is checked for both Private and Public network settings.
  • Click OK to save the changes, close the Control Panel and restart your computer.
  • After the restart, open the Command Prompt as administrator.
  • To do this, press the Windows key, and type cmd.
  • Right-click on Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator.

  • In the Command Prompt, type the following command and hit enter:
    netsh advfirewall show currentprofile
  • In the Firewall Policy field, check if the BlockInbound, AllowOutbound is displayed.
  • If the Inbound Policy is set to AllowInbound, run the following command:
    netsh advfirewall set current profile firewall policy blockinbound,allowoutbound
  • Once done, rerun the following to see if the Inbound Policy is set to BlockOutbound:
    netsh advfirewall show currentprofile
  • Close the command prompt and launch the Xbox Console Companion app.

  • Wait for the command to execute. This will change Microsoft’s IPv6 address to an alternate IP address.

    4. Clean boot and check for third-party software conflict 

  • Press the Windows key + R.

  • Open the Services tab in the System Configuration window.

  • Check the Hide all Microsoft services box. This will hide all the essential Microsoft services.
  • Next, click the Disable All button. This will disable third-party non-essential services.
  • Open the Startup tab and click on Open Task Manager.
  • In Task Manager, open the Startup tab.
  • Disable all the startup apps that are enabled and close Task Manager.
  • In System Configuration, click OK and Apply to save the changes.
  • Click Restart Now, and your system will restart in Clean Boot mode.
