Microsoft is working hard to make Cortana the most personal and the best functionating virtual assistant in the market, and this move will bring even more functionality to Microsoft’s ‘pet.’
During Lenovo Tech World yesterday in Bejing, Microsoft and Lenovo have agreed a deal to improve Microsoft’s Cortana with Lenovo’s new technology called “REACHit.” This Lenovo’s innovation offers “a much larger inventory of information to search, opening up an entirely new level of contextual search and giving users the most comprehensive, seamless and natural way to find their personal digital content.”
Cortana and REACHit are actually two different apps, but they’re perfectly functioning together. You probably already know what you can do with Cortana, you can search the web, the local content, set reminders, etc. And REACHit allows you to connect and search multiple search locations. When you combine these two apps, you get a powerful searching tool which will find you any content in any storage location connected to Lenovo’s app.

- Allows users to search for photos, videos, music and text documents on cloud storage services, including Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive.
- Gives users the ability to add location to searches, cross-referencing the file event with the location data to produce the most relevant results.
