The Harman Kardon Invoke is the latest Cortana-powered smart speaker

July 2024 · 2 minute read

The new Harman Kardon Invoke is a high-end Amazon Echo but with Cortana at its center, giving Microsoft some well-warranted attention in the voice assistant space

What’s Invoke all about?

There are quite a few of the usual questions regarding the new speaker: What does it do? How is it better? What does it offer? Things like this define whether or not a product is worthy of the public’s attention — and it might just seem that the new Invoke smart speaker is.

More information is available about the device through the setup wizard found within Windows 10. While people initially believed this setup wizard was not usable, it would seem that this is not really the case. What that means is that the setup wizard allows users to make some preparations and setup the computer for the new Harman Kardon speaker in anticipation.

Settings reveal capabilities

Settings that can be fiddled with include the ability to select the permissions the device will be granted access to from the PC, as well as its ability to communicate with the computer’s version of Cortana. Additionally, the speaker sports the ability to communicate with Skype as well.

As for everything else this svelte speaker is capable of, we’ll just have to wait and see!

What features would you like to see incorporated in the Invoke?
